I just wanted to say is that I am so glad that Marlene is meeting with the director and the producers at Constantin. I know lots of rumours have been floating around and I tend to be really quiet, but I want to make sure that when I tell you something, it’s true to the best of my knowledge….

Sparks Flying (Old Story)

An old story that I wrote.

There was an overnight retreat through school that I decided to attend. I found out that my best friend was also planning on going. I was extremely excited for the weekend, because he was also my crush.

It was Friday, just after school. I ran to my locker and twirled the dial to unlock my lock. I opened my locker, threw my books in, and reached for my other books and my jacket. I didn’t have to worry about my bag, because I had taken it down to the bus already.

“Bam!” someone said as they whacked my locker and made it gently hit my head. I looked up into my best friend, Nick’s deep, chocolate-brown eyes. I smiled and then quickly made a face at him.

“Not funny!” I sang, smiling again.

“Then, why are you smiling?” he inquired.

“I think you could guess,” I said quietly; Nick knew that I loved him. I could see the love in his eyes; though, he didn’t realize it himself. I had looked down when I said that and when I grabbed my stuff and stood up, I looked at him again. He was staring at me.

“What’s wrong?” Nick asked me.

“Oh…nothing.” I brightened up.

“Ready to have some fun?”

I thought, ‘With you, I’ll have the time of my life!’ but said, “Of course!” My, normally quiet voice, chimed out loudly in the, now empty, hallway. “Hey,” I said, the emptiness of the hallway reminding me, “what time are we supposed to be on the bus?”

Nick checked his cell phone, “Shit…now!”

I laughed, as I ran with him, down the hallway and playfully said, “Language!”

There was an almost sarcastic silence and I knew that Nick decided that he didn’t need to say anything. I could still tell that he had rolled his eyes. I started laughing again and sped up – challenging Nick. He laughed and sped up, too.

We got to the bus just as the teachers were looking over the list to see if anyone was missing. We signed in and Nick whispered in my ear, “I beat you, Skylar.” I laughed at how he said it.

We climbed onto the bus and found only two empty seats; they happened to be right next to each other. I heard Nick jokingly groan as we sat down (I got the window seat). I playfully slapped him and giggled.

The bus ride was very fun…I guess that’s typical; I mean, being in color guard and part of marching band, I’d know that.

We left school at four and stopped at a Subway, for dinner, at six. I got a meatball sub and Nick got a turkey one.

When we got back on the bus, I tried to draw, but got bored of it fairly quickly. I took out my iPod and curled up in my seat. Next thing I knew, the bus came to a stop. I slowly opened my eyes and saw everyone bustling around; that is, everyone, but Nick.

I guess it would’ve been kind of hard for him to be moving around. He was staring at me, but get this – his arm was around my shoulder, his hand cupping my elbow, and I realized that my head was on his shoulder. I looked up into his eyes and blushed as I realized that my hand was resting on his firm, muscled abdomen. I jerked it away as if it had been burned. I thought the ironic thing was that “Meteor Shower” by Owl City was playing on my iPod. I quickly sat up.

“Um, are we at the retreat house?” I asked, trying to draw attention away from myself.

“You’re blushing,” Nick said in a teasing tone of voice. At that, I blushed even more.

I stood up and picked up my jacket and my bag. I got my duffel bag from under the bus and went into the building. Our campus ministry director let us know that adoration was all night and reminded us that no girls were allowed in the boys’ rooms and no boys were allowed in the girls’ rooms. She, then, dismissed us.

Nick and I agreed on meeting in the chapel for adoration. Then, we went to our rooms. I remembered my room number from the list. When, I got to my room, I realized that the girl I was paired with had been sick, so I was alone.

I got changed into sweatpants and a t-shirt and I headed to the chapel. Nick was already there when I walked in. My heart started pounding as I sat next to him. Nick put his arm around my shoulder and I looked up at him. The look of him, starting at the monstrance made me feel very calm.

After about an hour, though it seemed shorter, I looked over. There were sliding glass doors out to a balcony. I slowly stood up and genuflected. I walked out of the doors and into the warm night air.

I leaned on the balcony rail and looked out into the yard. There was a pond in the middle of the yard and the ducks were asleep next to it.

I picked up the quiet sound of the sliding door opening and closing. “What’s wrong?” Nick asked.

I giggled and said, “I was just thinking.”

“Oh.”

“About us.” I looked up into Nick’s beautiful eyes.

“You’re still fighting yourself,” Nick stated it, continuing my thought.

“Yes, of course. What did you think?” Nick stepped closer to me. Slowly, he put his arms around me in an embrace.

“You don’t have to fight yourself, you know. Just relax.” I slowly loosened up and moved my head back. Nick leaned forward and kissed me on the lips.

Are You Serious, Sirius? - Harry Potter Fanfic

“Hey, you!  Harry Potter!”  A female voice called across the grounds of Hogwarts.  Harry was sitting on the ground under a beech tree with Hermione and Ron, when he heard this voice. He turned around to see a girl with black hair and green eyes running toward him.

“Who are you?”  Ron said, as the girl tried to gain her breath back from running so far.

“My name’s Lily!” the girl said, with a little bit of difficulty.

“Are you okay, Lily?” Hermione asked.

Harry wondered why the coincidence that she had the same name as his mother affected him so much.

“Yes, I’m fine.”  Lily finally was breathing normally.

     “Well, what’s up?”  Harry asked.

“I know you know Sirius Black personally-“

“Huh, I have no idea what you’re talking about!”  Harry said, afraid of betraying his godfather.

“Don’t play dumb with me.  I know you know him.  Anyway, he’s going to be a professor here!  He’s teaching a minor on animagi!”

“Really?” Hermione exclaimed.  She was genuinely excited.

“Lily, how do you know that I know Sirius?”  Harry asked quietly.

“Sirius has been talking about you, a lot.” Then Lily grimaced as if she had said too much.  “Listen, I’m not supposed to tell anyone about how I know Sirius, or I will get into deep trouble.”

     “Okay, then.”

“I am really curious about this Lily girl,” Ron finally said in the boy’s dormitory.  Lily was in Gryffindor, too and even the boy’s dormitory wasn’t safe from girls.

“I have a feeling that you’re going to investigate?” Harry said it like it was a question.

“We all are…you, Hermione, and I.”

The next day, the three found out that Lily was a seventh year.  They heard from some of Harry’s Quiddich friends, that she was always the first in classes, even before Hermione.  Finally, Ron tried to confront her on the grounds, but that’s when a huge seventh year Slytherin transfer, named Roy got in their way.  It turns out that they were boyfriend and girlfriend; Roy was very protective of Lily.

It didn’t take that long for the three to find out Lily’s secret.  She hung out with Sirius so much and once or twice they saw Sirius kiss Lily on the forehead.  Finally, Harry asked Sirius.

     “Sirius?”

“Yes, Harry?” Harry thought that the best time to talk to Sirius was before class in his office.

“Do you know the girl in my year named Lily?”

     “Yes, I do.”

     “How?”

“It would be upsetting if I didn’t know her Harry.  The reason being, Lily’s my daughter.”

     “What?”  Harry was incredulous.

“Well, not genetically.  You see, I adopted Lily when her father could not take care of her anymore.” Harry looked blankly at Sirius.  “And her mother got married to another man, a year later.  She gave the child to her father and after Lily turned three, her mother and stepfather died.  Her father fell into a slump and contacted Dumbledore.  Dumbledore sent the girl to me and when I was sent to Azkaban, she was sent to Roy’s family.”

“But why couldn’t her father take care of her?”

“He couldn’t bear to see her eyes, which were so much like her mother’s.  Though, he’s been seeing her more and more often, and not by choice.”

     “Sirius, who is her father.”

“And that is where I’ll stop.  I am under strict rules from Dumbledore not to tell anyone.”

Later that night, Harry filled Hermione and Ron in on how his talk with Sirius went.

“Daughter?  Hmm…seeing her more and more often, and not by choice…I wonder if it’s a teacher here…” Hermione thought aloud.

Just then, Lilly came into the common room.  The others shifted around uncomfortably and fell into an awkward silence.

It was difficult for the three to focus on anything, those next few weeks.  They started looking at teachers as she passed by them, but to no avail.  No teachers looked slightly interested in her, besides the occasional, ‘Excellent job on your homework, Miss Lily.’  They did notice that none of the teachers called her by her last name.  None of them dropped any hints about her.

One night, Harry, who was in the Gryffindor common room, alone, heard Lily leaving.  He decided to follow her.  He took his invisibility cloak and the Marauders’ Map out of his pocket and put it on.

Lily seemed to be wandering around aimlessly, but finally, she was headed toward the Great Hall.  When she walked in, she was embraced by a figure in a shadow.

They stayed in the embrace for a while and Harry wondered if he was mistaken and it was Roy, but Lily finally spoke, saying into the person’s shoulder, “Father, why can I not see you more often?”

The voice Harry heard made him almost have a heart attack.  Severus Snape said, “Because, my dearest, Lily, whenever I see you, it brings a fresh wave of pain.  I still am in pain over my betrayal of your mother and now, you have no one to take care of you…”

After a long pause, Lily spoke up.  She seemed to have had this weighing on her thoughts a lot, because she spoke with conviction.  “Father, should I become friends with my brother?”

Snape whispered something that sounded both like a name and a curse, though Harry couldn’t catch what he said.  “Whatever you’d like, my dear.”  He then, stalked away, seeming wounded.

The Defense Team: Sylver’s Story - fragment

I walked into the fresh, open air, which had been purified by the light spring rain.  I wandered into what would’ve been a dark threatening forest to anyone but me.  I could hear many animals scampering in the underbrush and the rain dripping off the trees.  I started to feel like something was watching me.  I whirled around and backed up slowly.

A cold hand went over my mouth.  “Sylver, it’s not safe here!” a harsh voice breathed in my ear; I recognized the voice and scowled.  It was a boy who had come with my parents and me; his name was Drew.  My parents were the emperor and empress of our galaxy.  We resided on Oro, but we were visiting the planet Neena.  I had just turned sixteen and each of the princes or princesses of our galaxy represents a certain planet, mine was Neena.

This boy was a servant boy and I detested him, he’d always make jokes at my expense, but he was one of my parents’ favorite servants, so I couldn’t get rid of him!  Right now, he looked different, but I didn’t have time to register the difference, because a snarl came from right behind me.  Normally, I’m not the person to faint, like a “normal princess”, but this frightened me so much, that I did faint.

The first thing I noticed, even before I gained full consciousness, was that my arms, face, and chest were throbbing.  I moaned and I heard someone move toward me.  I was afraid, but my eyes snapped open, I was now ready to defend myself.

“Sylver, I’m so sorry!” there was a boy with a blackish colored nose, lips and a line between the two connecting them. He was shirtless and there were gouges across his tight muscled skin.  I then realized that it was Drew.

“First of all, why are you apologizing to me? Second, why are you being nice to me?”

“Sylver, look down…” I did look down. My chest and arms were wrapped in bandages.

            “What happened?”

“We were attacked by a pack of werewolves…”

“Wait you mean werewolves as in the full moon ones?”
“No, these werewolves are wolves their whole life after they are bitten, unless you get the venom out of the wounds,” Drew said.

“Is that why we’re humans now?”

            “Yes,” Drew said.

“Drew took it upon himself to…” Drew made a warning face at an old grandmotherly woman.

            “Sylver, meet my grandmother.”

            “Grandmother?”

“I was born on Neena, as a shape shifting werewolf.”

            “You…a…werewolf?”

“Had you ever seen me around the castle near full moon?”

I carefully thought about that, “Umm, no?”

“I was locked in the cellar; though, since I’m old enough, I can control myself.”

“So, I won’t be able to control myself during my first change?”

“No, you won’t, but don’t worry, Grandmother and I will be with you during that time.”

“When is the next full moon?” I asked cautiously.

            “Don’t you remember?”

It finally dawned on me…I’d have to miss the ship home “…Tonight,” I said slowly.

“You cannot go home, you will be in no condition,” Drew said sadly.

“You know what?” I asked angrily, “I’m really starting to hate you again.” I was slowly edging toward a place in the wall covered by a dark velvet cloth.  I could hear outside noises from it and I was almost positive it was a door to the cave.  I could smell my way back to my parents.  My sense of smell was extremely strong, now.  I smiled tantalizingly and said, “I’m sorry!” Then, I ran out of the cave.  I was kind of wrong, there was a small foyer area, then the exit.  I ran, not waiting to hear if anyone called me.

My contribution to a friend’s story (The Secret of Shadows)

“Freshman.” He said it like he was accusing me of something.

I looked up into his green eyes and said while glaring, “What’s your problem, Matt?”

He saw my intensity, my willingness to start a fight right here on the bus, and mumbled, “Nothing.” He, then, turned away.

I smirked and said in my mind, ‘That’s what I thought…’ Matt was my neighbor and he always teased me, but despite that, I could not help my growing attraction for him.  He had bright green eyes, silky brown hair, and he had a great body.  This year he’s a sophomore.  Matt looked amazing, he was also a perfect student, a great athlete, and he was popular.

Though I had an attraction to him, I also hated him.  He was always surrounded by girls, loved attention, was somewhat conceited, and he was extremely nasty to me.
